Astrologic
Astrologic is a class project we created under the constraint of "astrologic reading." Our aim was to design a chill and relaxing game that emphasizes art and music while providing players with a thoughtful puzzle experience. The gameplay involves placing different types of stars on constellation maps, each with specific constraints. Players must deduce patterns to complete the maps and progress.
I was responsible for the entire programming, ensuring every gameplay element was functional and intuitive. This included:
- Developing star placement mechanics with unique rules and constraints for each star type.
- Implementing feedback systems to help players understand their progress.
- Designing constellation map logic, enabling dynamic updates during gameplay.
- Creating progression mechanics, introducing increasingly complex maps as players advanced.
- Debugging and refining the gameplay for a polished experience.
Beyond programming, I contributed to the sprite design for some of the stars and other visuals, ensuring they fit the game’s celestial theme.
I also conducted the player interview playtest, gathering valuable feedback to improve the gameplay experience and ensure the design matched our vision for a chill and engaging game.
